Charlie Straight at Colours of Ostrava 2008
As we arrived at the place, the sun seemed to shine like never before - it was so hot! Suddenly, a bunch of people sprung up around us to help with the equipment. So professional! I was tuning my guitars in the shade while somebody adjusted our banner so high, that it was perfectly visible from far away.
What followed was a long-enough soundcheck to make Michael happy and even Pavel didn´t complain this time. Most of the audience gathering in front of the huge stage sat under the trees like hippies at Woodstock (as I imagine it, anyway). There was plenty of space on stage and the lights made my morning-wake-up-and-go hair-style match with the purple t-shirt I was wearing.
Kick it off, then, come on!!! And so we played... Thrilled, excited, gave an encore. And the crowd sang Shall We Have A Baby almost like a careless Friday afternoon anthem promising a great night. For us it later was a great night, indeed, as we listened to all the artists and rambled the grounds of the festival. We hope to get back on the line-up some day. Next year maybe, who knows?
