Locks, Socks and Two Endless Days

I´m listening to John Mayer´s Continuum right now as I´m writing this. I´d like to tell you a story of our new rehersal room and the most crazy recording session of my life.

When we gathered in front of my garage to load the cars full with carpets, guitars, keyboards and the drumset, suddenly, Pavel realized he had just left his keys in the ignition of his locked up car. „Oh dear, what´re we gonna do now?“. My father quickly gave him a lift and they came back with spare keys after a while. On Thursday, we wanted to prepare the room somehow for the weekend, however, when we got there, Johny realized he didn´t have his keys. So I waited and waited at the door keeping an eye on two mattresses, a wooden table and a cabinet. Everywhere was dark.

To be honest, I don´t quite remember how many times it was, we visited our new rehearsal room. More importantly, I´d like to express the most tangible and vivid memories here. For instance, have you ever been mopping the floor with two pairs of socks and a sweatshirt? We have.

Maybe, the highlight was when about three tractors stopped dunging the nearby fields, so that we didn´t have them in the vocal tracks. Anyway, we recorded Your House and Running Up on Saturday and Nothing on Sunday. Later, we spent hours mixing it and kept coming drowsy to school for a few days. I still remember the weight of Pavel´s accordion as well as the comfy feeling when sitting in our vintage-grandfather´s sofa. Hope, you´ll get it when listening to these songs, we had a great time!
